Ponse dies in auto accident

Benjamin Ponse, of Pittsburg, was killed in an automobile accident in Upshur County March 21.
Mr. Ponse, driving a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban, was traveling north on Farm-to-Market Road 2454 when he crossed into the southbound lane of traffic near Toad Road, and struck a truck tractor semi-trailer, according to Department of Public Safety Spokeswoman Jean Dark. The accident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m.
Mr. Ponse, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene by Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Arthur Ray.
The driver of the truck, Marcos Cornelio, 39, of Tyler, was treated at the scene and released.
