Judge Woodson hears 15 guilty pleas in district court

Fifteen people pled guilty in 76th District Court before Judge Danny Woodson the week of March 4.
Nereo Deleon and Donald Lee Branscum entered guilty pleas March 4. Mr. Deleon pled guilty to driving while intoxicated, his third or more. He received a three-year sentence to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Mr. Branscum was sentenced to five years in TDCJ for failure to register as a sex offender.
“Numerous jail cases were disposed of by District Attorney Chuck Bailey and the court that week,” Camp County Sheriff Alan McCandless said.
Judge Woodson heard guilty pleas from 13 people on March 7.
Marlon Dequis Peters pled guilty to manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to one year in state jail. He had been bench warranted from TDCJ to the Camp County Jail to appear in court.
Tracy Lee Chastain received a nine-month state jail sentence for credit card or debit card abuse. He also has a pending felony charge, and a hold was placed on him for Morris County.
Judge Woodson sentenced Jose Umberto Gonzalez to one year in state jail for felony criminal mischief.
Parnell Lewis pled guilty to burglary of a habitation. He received a five-year sentence to TDCJ.
Angelique Ybarra was also sentenced to five years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. She pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance, over 4 grams under 200 grams.
Valirie Ann Hicks pled guilty to three separate charges; each carried a one-year state jail sentence. The charges were endangering a child, burglary of a building and possession of a controlled substance.
Johnny Lee Volker Jr. was sentenced to one year in state jail for felony theft, over $1,500 under $20,000. He also has a hold placed on him for a pending felony in Titus County.
Billy Mac Whitson pled to two years in TDCJ for the offense of felon in possession of a firearm.
A five-year TDCJ sentence was given to Juan Vicente Luna for possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility.
Judge Woodson sentenced Antonio Doddy to three years in TDCJ for burglary of a habitation. He will be transferred to Titus County on a pending felony.
Jordan Wayne Miles received four one-year state jail sentences. Two were for theft over $1,500 less than $20,000; the other two were burglary of a building.
Bryan Keith Winchester pled guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana, over 4 ounces under 5 pounds, and was sentenced to 180 days in state jail.
Theodore Jermaine Amey received a three-year sentence to TDCJ for robbery.
Jonathan Paul Moody pled guilty to theft over $1,500 under $20,000. He was sentenced to one year in state jail.
On Dec. 11, Donni Lee Cagle had pled to one year in state jail for burglary of a building.
Those sentenced to state jail will be transported to the Bradshaw State Jail in Henderson. Those sentenced to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice will be taken to the Gurney Unit in Tennessee Colony.
