Services for Dorthy Malcom, 90, of Cleburne were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29 at Field Street Baptist Church. Rev. John Glover officiated the ceremony, assisted by Dr. John Hall. Burial was at Cleburne Memorial Cemetery. The Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Dorthy Malcom passed away Wednesday, Aug. 27 in Keene. She was born Dec. 9, 1923, in Leesburgto Grady and Sovilla Jane Warrick Barron. She married Billy J. Malcom on Dec. 4, 1949, in Dallas. Mrs. Malcom was a homemaker and a member of Field Street Baptist Church, where she also served as church secretary for a number of years. She was a 50-year member of Ruth Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and past Worthy Matron. Sewing, fishing, traveling and square dancing were some of her favorite activities. They were members of the Curli Q’s square dance club for more than 20 years. Survivors include her husband, Bill Malcom of Cleburne; son, Mark Malcom; daughters, Dianna Tutle and husband, Paul, and Inajo Gray and husband, Ronald; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Hershel Barron and Fletcher Barron; and sister, Jane Barron. You may sign the guestbook and view obituary and photo at www. cpcleburne.com.
