Organized effort needed to fix crossings
Dear Editor,
As we wake up this morningknowing full well it is because of Christ Jesus that He has allowed most of us to see a new and glorious day together, and for that and what comes next, I and you will be truly grateful. In addition to the above biblical fact, I read somewhere what people need every now and then is models of possibilities, or projects that bring us together as a unified people. One of those projects I, and others, would like to put forth is an organized phone bank to call the Federal Railroad Administration every day regarding the terrible conditions of Pittsburg’s railroad track crossings that we all cross every single day. Those street crossings are as follows: Fulton, Clayton, Texas, parts of Quitman, and lastly north and south of U. S. Highway 271. Each of these locations is in terrible shape, not counting the damage that happens to our vehicles. I’m sure that y’all have also noticed how the railroad just leaves its discarded track rails and other unused or unwanted trash on or near the areas they have been working waiting for a contracted service to pick it up. Guess what? They never show up. Let’s complete our summer with an additional united summerproject. Let’s bombard the following Federal Railroad Administration Office with phone calls every single day regarding our town’s railroad crossings. So in conclusion, take a moment and call Richard Washington at the Federal Railroad Administration. He will just be thrilled, 318-364-7229. And if you don’t have a phone, you can use mine.
Sincerely, Rex Davis
