City Spotlight: Spicewood

Located approximately 25 miles northwest of Austin, Spicewood is considered a gem of a town and is the hometown of Country Music Legend Willie Nelson. This town is rather family-oriented and easier going than most and offers a vast array of activities for all ages. There are also an abundance of restaurants for you and your family to choose from to enjoy your vacation.  
 
The Reserve at Lake Travis
 
One of the nicer places in Spicewood is The Reserve at Lake Travis. It’s a gated, luxury waterfront community located on thriving acres of rolling hill country. The Reserve at Lake Travis is on three and a half miles of immaculate shoreline along the south banks of Lake Travis. It’s a place where luxury and fun come together to create a wonderful vacation. There’s a lazy river pool, cabins, horseback riding lessons, picnic basket lunch delivery for your boat, and much more to offer. It’s the perfect getaway for you, a couple, friends, and/or family.
 
Krause Springs
 
Krause Springs is a hidden watering hole which includes over 30 springs, fountains and more waterfalls, a walkthrough butterfly garden, and on-site RV camping facilities equipped with water and electricity. Not only are RV camping facilities available there’s also a place where you can set up a tent. Krause Springs is well known for swimming and camping in the gorgeous Hill Country of Texas. It sits on 115 acres which is listed on the National Registry of Historical Sites. The Krause family has owned the estate for over 50 years. Several of the springs which are on the land feed the manmade pool as well as the natural pool both of which flow into Lake Travis.
 
Cypress Valley Canopy
 
ToursIf nature is your thing  and you don’t mind heights, Cypress Valley Canopy Tours might just be your cup of tea.On these tours you fly through the canopy of old growth cypress trees, some of which are up to 100 feet tall.
