Human remains found in southern Titus County

On June 23 at approximately 1:06 p.m., Pittsburg Police officers along with the Camp County Sheriff’s Department and the Titus County Sheriff’s Department responded to a location in southern Titus County in reference to human remains found alongside railroad tracks. Investigators have determined that the person was struck by a train.
The Pittsburg Police Department is assisting the Titus County Sheriff’s Department in the identification of these human remains as no positive identification has been made in the case.
No foul play is suspected and Titus County Justice of the Peace Paula Dyke has ordered an autopsy to be performed.
