The next big exaggeration

If the rumors are true, early this week the Environmental Protection Agency and President Obama would have announced a proposal that will result in a 30 percent cut in greenhouse emissions caused mostly by coal-fired power plants by the year 2030.Obama has dismissed the complaints that this proposal will hurt the economy. In fact, wait for the big exaggeration: This proposal to limit carbon pollution will actually increase the economy $43 to $74 billion dollars. You, the consumers, are really in luck. The worst case scenario your bills will increase slightly, but more likely your bills will drop because of the new advancements in efficiency. The fastest growing core group of Democratic voters stay around the house all day and lower utility bills would be a plus and a vote getter. To my older Democratic friends; I understand, like us older Republicans we are all stuck in a previous era. You with the Kennedys and we with Reagan, but memories of the good old days help us get through. Just like “global warming” was replaced with “climate change; keep your own doctor” had to be replaced with something with a longer self-life. Not to worry “your bills will be dropped” will be replaced in the future with some new snappy slogan, but it will probably be in Spanish.
