Twentieth Century Club host friendship luncheon

It was like a lovely picture from the past as 35 ladies in hats, gloves and pearls sat down to tea, scones and clotted cream. The Twentieth Century Study Club hosted the annual Friendship Luncheon at the Abernathy House. Each table was dressed in white linens and fresh flowers with tiers of finger sandwiches, fruit, cheese and desserts.  Special guest, Ann Reeves entertained with her knowledge of a proper English tea and recited poetry as hostesses poured black currant tea.  Jenny Boyko, Cathy Harwell, Linda Grundish, Kathy McCullough, Linda O’Quinn and Joann Tollett wore matching pinafores while serving the guests.
