Habitat for Humanity gives back with ramp building
Habitat for Humanity of Camp County, in collaboration with the Texas Ramps affiliate Longview Ramps, invites everyone in this area to help construct a ramp for a local resident on Saturday, March 1.
The local Habitat affiliate, according to Mary Carter Lloyd, president, was advised that a local elderly couple was in need of a ramp to make their home more accessible for them.
Habitat board member Jerry Goforth contacted the family and the Texas Ramps organization who provide ramp building materials
This group offers training to individuals who want to participate in helping the disabled meet some of their accessibility challenges.
Bill Slegir of the affiliate Longview Ramps, will provide the materials and work with Mr. Goforth and the Habitat volunteers on this ramp project.
