The Lady Pirates volleyball team defeated the Linden Kildare Lady Tigers three games to none. The first game went Lady Pirates 27 - Lady Tigers 24, second was Lady Pirates 25 - Lady Tigers 18, and third went to the Lady Pirates 25 - Lady Tigers 22. There were some rough edges on the Lady Pirates part but they played well. Their coordination was good and this seems to be a very athletic team. Those covering the net were very skillful and covered it well, the height helped. The setters were spot on and hitting was killer.

Veteran senior Sydney Waldrep, honorable mention all-district setter had 15 assist. Senior Dae’jah Heath, first team all-district outside hitter, was deadly with 9 kills. Second team all-district libero, senior Taylor Bullock’s passing was great for this early in the season. Senior Madison Sansom, second team all-district setter and junior Malaysia Burns, first team all-district middle blocker blocked numerous hits by the Lady Tigers at the net. Sansom also got her first serving ace of the season early on in the first game.
