PHS boys’ basketball camp set June 26-29

The Pittsburg High School Basketball Camp is set for June 26-29 at the high school gymnasium.
The camp is open of incoming fourth through ninth grade boys. 
Cost is $25 per person. The camp runs from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. each day for grades 4-6, then 1-4 p.m. from grades 7-9.
Individuals will need to bring athletic clothing, basketball shoes and a “learning attitude.” Concessions may be available.

Rays tryout camp  set for June 22

HALLSVILLE -- Area baseball players have a chance to try out for the Tampa Bay Rays in an open camp set for June 22 at Hallsville High School’s baseball field.
Players ages 16-21 are encouraged to attend the camp, which will be supervised by Rays scout Pat Murphy under the direction of Scott Mitchell.
Players will be evaluated on running, throwing, fielding and hitting abilities. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with workout to follow.
The Rays will provide all equipment, with the exception of glove, spikes and catchers gear. For information, call Scott Mitchell at 903-424-8448.

Registration for golf tournament

MOUNT PLEASANT – Everything Texas Golf Tournament and Shootout is Saturday, June 24. 
The putting contest  is free and limited to tournament players and Shootout ($20 per tournament player/$40 per non-tournament player) registration also available. 
Putting contest is 6:30 p.m. with a $250 first prize. The Everett Toyota Shootout begins at 7:30 p.m. Teams of two people, alternate shot format. The maximum number of shootout entries will be limited to 30.  The first-place team will win $400 and second place $100.

Spring calf roping set June 24-25

MOUNT PLEASANT – The Pessell Brothers Productions announced their 2017 Spring Calf Roping Series in Mount Pleasant at the M Bar J Arena.
