Investigation continues into fatality accident

MOUNT PLEASANT – The investigation continues into a one-vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a 10-year-old Pittsburg boy on May 26, according to a police department spokesman.
According to Kyle Holcomb, assistant chief of the Mount Pleasant Police Department, said the cause of the accident was “faulty evasive action” and the investigation into the accident is “still ongoing.” 
According to MPPD press release emailed to The Gazette, the accident happened about 11:39 a.m. in the 28000 block of South Jefferson. A 2005 Ford Explorer, driven by 38-year-old Kyle Williams Sr., was traveling southbound on South Jefferson and lost control of the vehicle. Williams suffered serious non-life threatening injuries, while Marcos Lorenzo “Marc” Rosales later died from injuries he received in the crash.
He was a fourth-grade student at Pittsburg Elementary School, according to Pittsburg ISD Superintendent Judy Pollan.
Six other people were also in the vehicle at the time of the accident. They were Stephanie Brooks, 28; Kyle Williams Jr., 9; Zion Williams, 7; Tyrell Williams, 2, and Maleea Williams, 2.
The injured were transported to four hospitals by helicopter and ambulance, suffering from minor to serious injuries.
Other agencies assisting with the accident were the Texas Department of Public Safety, Mount Pleasant Fire Department, Titus Regional Medic Units, East Texas Medical Medic Units and the Department of Transportation.
Funeral services Rosales were May 30 at the Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg.
