Unlock The Block’ set for Saturday May 20

Kaymon Farmer has created his own personal brand -- K9ology Life Dawg – and asking others, “How do people see me?”
The answers he received were event planner, entrepreneur, speaker, writer, and videographer.
With K9ology Life Dawg, Farmer is introducing nine principles that he believes will place individuals on the path to becoming the “greatest version of themselves.” 
The nine principles such as love others, appreciate life, add value to others lives, be unique, humility, live with a purpose, positivity, daily growth, and believe all things are possible. 
“These principles will be established through events, motivational speaking, clothing, books, and film,” he said.
His first K9ology event is called “Unlock The Block” (UTB) and it is set for Saturday, May 20, at the Douglas Alumni Community Center, in his hometown of Pittsburg.
Farmer, a 2012 graduate of Pittsburg High School, graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Okla., in 2015. 
He also played football at SOSU and holds three school and Great American Conference records.
“During a bus ride to our football game in October, God placed the unique idea of UTB in my head,” Farmer said.  “At the time, I simply wrote in my journal block party, Future Stars of America (non-profit), and Kendall Wright because he has the key to city.” 
Farmer is also the co-founder of Future Stars of America (non-profit organization) and an All-State Good Works team member (one of 24 in U.S.)
Farmer noted a couple months later, he looked back on the idea and acted upon it, creatively. 
“I engineered a family environment block party that inspires, offers opportunities, showcase others talents, and provides positive energy to the community,” he explained.
The UTB will consist of a speed camp, youth talent show, 5k run and walk, car meet, guest speakers, and vendors. 
“We’re allowing walk ups the day of the event for the speed camp, youth talent show, and speakers, although spots are very limited,” added Farmer.
Registration for the speed camp and the 5k walk & run (Fair Park) starts at 8 a.m.
There will be food, bounce houses, party characters, face painting and more.
The Douglass Alumni Community Center is located at 408 Terry St.
