No action taken on annexation plan

No action was taken by the Pittsburg City Council on the second public hearing held May 8 on the proposed annexation plan of property located at 423 and 431 County Road 2208. 
According to City Secretary Victoria Janway, there were no comments from the public at the public hearing.
The city received a petition requesting annexation by Russell Sawyer. The first public hearing was April 10.
Under state law, the City may annex the area after following certain notice and hearing procedures contained in Chapter 43 of the Texas Local Government Code.
The annexed property is available for services provided by the Pittsburg Police and Fire Departments, as well as animal and environmental services, solid waste collection and water service.
