Shooting victim Kendrick Lemichael Jackson, 29, who was found shot in his home on the Upshur County side of the Lafayette community on March 28 is being remembered as a down-to earth, selfless man who never met a stranger.
“Kendrick met no strangers. He was down-to-earth, laid back…willing to give the shirt off of his back,” said Buster Edwards, the victim’s cousin.
Four arrests have been mad thus far in the death of Jackson: Devontay Hunter, 20, of Lone Star; Xavier Keishawn Mumphrey, 19, of Kilgore; and Alize Sharda McFall, 20, of Kilgore are each charged with first-degree murder in the case.
Hunter’s bail was set at $250,000 by Upshur County Justice of the Peace Lyle Potter, according to Upshur County Sheriff Larry Webb.
Jackson, who was a musician and was also well-known by his stage name, “Lil’ Pooh,” was a rising star in the rap community. Edwards said that’s where he made one of his best memories with Jackson—on the stage.
