Outdoor Market deemed a success by city

Downtown Pittsburg was abuzz March 11 as the city hosted the “Make Mine Vintage Outdoor Market” near Pilgrim Plaza. The event offered a variety of all things handmade, handcrafted, antique, vintage, repurposed, chippy, shabby, unique and gourmet.
Community Development Coordinator Amanda McCellon said despite weather concerns, the event was “well attended.”
“It turned out very good, you know, there was a little concern because of weather…it was cool and there was a chance of rain all day. That probably did keep some people away, but lots of people braved the cool weather and came out and shopped. We actually had people come out before everyone was even set up at 11.”
The market boasted 20 vendors selling a vast array of wares and according to McCellon, she’s already had prospective vendors contacting her about the next event.
“Most of the vendors had a very good day and we’ve already had people contacting us wanting to be vendors for the next one so that’s positive. We are having another one; we’re just trying to decide when that date will be,” she noted.
