Pirates lose to the Tatum Eagles, 21 to 49
The box score tells it all, e Tatum Eagles were in control of the game from the beginning and never let go. e Pirates struggled to say the least and the loss was a total team e ort. Broken plays and penalties broke the team’s usual rhythm. Crucial third downs were not converted and penalties at inopportune moments on defense gave Tatum an opportunity to continue to move the ball. A er last year’s 0-10 season, Tatum had a lot to prove and that team showed a determination that appeared on the scoreboard. e Pirates did not appear to be in the same mindset. District play starts in two weeks with Atlanta coming to Pittsburg. e team will put this behind them and learn from it. Coach Baca and his sta will iron out the problems and have the team ready. No team likes to lose and this team is no exception.
