• Pilgrim bank employees celebrated the 95th anniversary of the bank. Mayor Shawn Kennington started o the event by reading a proclamation issued by the city of Pittsburg. Bank leaders recognized in the paper were Rick Strudthoff, Lanny Brenner and Jerry Webster.

• The city council voted unanimously to begin negotiations with James Blanchard for the position of city manager. The council interviewed Mr. Blanchard Friday morning.

• Republican candidates running for local o ces in the November elections participated in a “Meet the Candidates” meeting at the Pilgrim Bank Community Room. Camp County Republicans sponsored the event. From left the candidates and the office they seek are: Bobby Carpenter, justice of the peace; Larry Shelton, re-election, Precinct 2 commissioner; and Patrick Smith, county judge.

• Bi-County Water Supply was awarded the Total Coliform Rule Program Award by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
