Thomas Cravey resigns as county judge; Mason appointed as successor

Camp County Judge Thomas Cravey officially resigned at the Sept. 7 County Commissioners meeting, bringing an end to an eight-year judgeship; his resignation is e ective Sept. 30. He was sworn in as county judge on Aug. 8, 2008 a er the death of longtime county judge, Preston Combest. e Commissioners Court also appointed AJ Mason to be the next county judge e ective Oct. 1. Prior to serving as Camp County Judge, Cravey served as Camp County Constable from 2004 until taking over on the bench. He was employed as the chief deputy of the Camp County Sheriff’s office from March 2000 until October 2004. Cravey also worked as a business analyst for Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation as a business analyst until being hired by the sheriff’s office.
