Pirates score to defeat cancer

The Pittsburg Pirates are scoring to defeat childhood cancer this month. In support of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the Pittsburg Pirates football team is joining “Touchdowns Against Cancer”. Fans can pledge a donation for every touchdown scored from Sept. 15 to Oct. 1. Every touchdown scored by the Pirates during this campaign will directly benet St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and help defeat childhood cancer. Touchdowns Against Cancer is a key organization for the pirates to support because childhood cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease among young Americans. By donating, Pirates fans can help the 16,000 children and adolescents that will be diagnosed with cancer this year.
