• Bo and Patty Pilgrim donate $2 million to build a new cancer center in Mount Pleasant.
• Billy Paul Hanson receives a 50 year service pin from the Pittsburg Lions Club.
• Fish fry is a tradition for the Pittsburg High School Band. It is a two day camp where freshmen get acquainted with their fellow band members and start learning the basics about marching. Clayton Kirby and Aaron Brison are featured in e Gazette learning the steps.
• Students at Pittsburg High School put on a fashion show at freshman orientation. Seniors Megan Saleh and Lauren Combest give a fashion show as what and what not to wear.
• Kristopher Kenneth Munn graduates from Baylor University in Waco. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry.
• Fred and Norma Bates celebrate 50 years of marriage.
• Megan Reeves of Pittsburg, a member of Harmony FFA chapter, and was named the State FFA Vegetable Production Entrepreneurship-Placement winner and received a $250 check at the 78th state FFA convention.
