Pittsburg schools ranked one of the best in nation by U.S. News

The U.S. News and World Report magazine report the best High School in the nation and awards Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals. The rankings include data on more than 21,000 public schools in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Schools were awarded based on their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college. Pittsburg High School has a 99 percent graduation rate. Out of 1,915 High Schools in Texas, 450 made the list nationally, and one was e Pittsburg Independent School District. Pittsburg High School rated the Bronze Medal due to the schools extremely high retention, graduation rate and because of the school has a minority enrollment of 62 percent.
