The swimming season is fast approaching and the City of Pittsburg would like to help our citizens stay safe this summer. Safety is the city’s number one priority regarding swimming pools. Property owners are responsible for ensuring their swimming pools are safe and within state regulations. DID YOU KNOW… Every day, about 10 people die from unintentional drowning. Of these, two are children aged 14 or younger. Drowning ranks h among the leading causes of unintentional injury death in the United States. HOW BIG IS THE PROBLEM? About one in ve people who die from drowning are children 14 and younger. For every child who dies from drowning, another ve receive emergency department care for non-fatal submersion injuries.
