• Contestants vying for the Miss PHS are Brittany Sullivan, Felicia Hicks, Hillary Green, Keilani Gonzales, Jaquana Craig, Cortney Blankenship, and Tamerica Perard, Megan Morrow and Katie Smith.

• Two Camp County churches, Hepsibah Baptist Church and Spring Hill Baptist Church were burglarized.

• Burnis and Betty Covington of Blodgett celebrated 60 years of marriage with a gathering of family and friends.

• Pittsburg resident Dr. Jim Archer has been named a 2006 Alumni Ambassador of Texas A&M University- Commerce.
