Letter to the Editor

Dear Mr. Knox,

Several weeks back I enjoyed swapping stories with Ellis Knox about our exploits back when we were both in government service. It was of great interest to me when Knox showed me the ier on Columbine II’s upcoming visit to Mt. Pleasant. I also enjoyed the article he wrote for our local paper concerning this aircraft. I was fortunate enough to have seen and toured this wonderful piece of history years ago. It and other retired Presidential aircra were on display at the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio. I was on my way to Mount Pleasant to do some shopping when I saw that distinctive tail of the constellation o to the right. ere is no mistaking the tail of a “Connie.” The Public viewing was going on, so I stopped to see this important piece of our history. The next day they were fueling the plane when I arrived.
