Lady Pirates struggle to stay in contention

The Lady Pirates broke their three game losing streak by outstanding defense and exceptional pitching by Marisol Kennedy. Kennedy threw 78 pitches, 56 were strikes, and 20 were rst pitch strikes, and struck out 10. Kennedy allowed only two hits and shut-out Liberty-Eylau. In the bottom of the third Kim Roach doubled to right eld on a Texas-leaguer. Madison Busch’s sacri ce advanced Roach to third. en Kaycee Parker doubled to right and Roach scored. And that’s the way it ended. This win puts the Lady Pirates into the district play-offs. The teams’ record in district at this printing is 5-4.
