Lady Pirates unable to rally against Atlanta

It was all defense up until the bottom of the fourth when the Lady Pirates scored first after Mackenzie Blackstock singled into center field. Then Sydney Reynolds singled to center and Blackstock scored the Lady Pirates’ single run. The fifth inning saw both teams go three up and three down, as tough defense from both teams continued. Marisol Kennedy was on top of her pitching game until the top of the sixth inning, with one on first, she hit the Atlanta Lady Rabbits batter with a pitch, and she seemed rattled by this. The next batter doubled to center and both runners scored to go ahead by one run, two to one. Coach Bachelor called Kaycee Parker to the mound and relieved Kennedy.
