Stolen truck is recovered by sheriff’s deputies

A pickup, stolen from a parking lot in February, was located by the Camp County Sheriff ’s Department in 45 minutes with help from the vehicle’s GPS system. “The complainant went in the business to have coffee about 9 a.m. and realized he had left his phone in his truck. When he went outside to get the phone, he discovered his truck was missing,” Sheriff Alan McCandless said. “Deputy Clay Hefner spoke to someone at the car dealership where the vehicle was purchased and was told the last signal they had was at 9:27. She indicated she was unable to get a response at the time Deputy Hefner called because the battery was disconnected; however, the last signal indicated the truck was in the area of County Road 2412.” Deputy Bo Tucker and Deputy Brayden Hooper were notified, and after a brief search the vehicle was located.
