Pirates get huge surprise as football camp begins

Pittsburg Pirate Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Brad Baca and the football coaching staff welcomed over 50 young men to the first day of Spring Football Boot Camp. Coach Baca also had a big surprise for the team brand new Nike shoes. The Westlake, Austin, Chaparrals football team, 6A Region II District 14 Champions and 2015 State runner-up for 6A football, buy all their equipment from Nike. When Nike found out they hadmade the 6A state playoffs they sent the team 70 pair of new cleats to wear in the game. However, there are 110 members of the Westlake football team and there were not enough shoes to go around. So the Westlake senior football captains suggested to the Head Coach Todd Dodge they not use the cleats but donate them to a numerically smaller team.
