Pirate soccer team is three and zero

With one third of the district season gone, the Pirate soccer team has dominated 4A Region II, District 13 play. Led by senior team captains Victor Ponce and Alexandro Mata, the Pirates have coalesced into a formidable team. The Pirates defeated their first district opponent the Pleasant Grove Hawks, 2 to 1, Friday, Feb. 12. e Pirates then played the Atlanta Rabbits in their second district game in a total team victory, Tues. Feb. 16. e Pirates defeated the Rabbits, 5 to 1. Cristian Martinez, Jason Rojas, and Jose Trejo scored in the first half to make it 3 to1. In the second half, Victor Ponce would score a on a pass from Martinez to make it 4-0. Trejo would round out the scoring for the Pirates with his second goal of the night on a pass from Armando Cisneros. eir third game was also a victory over their district rival the Liberty-Eylau Leopards. Again the Pirates dominated play but were thwarted on numerous occasions by Liberty-Eylau’s strategy of catching them off sides.
