Nine Pirates sign for scholarships

Nine Pittsburg Pirate seniors sign letter of intent Feb. 3. Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Brad Baca o ciated the signing ceremony for the assembled Pirate football team, family, friends and the press. The nine signers are in alphabetical order: Brad Baca, Pirate quarterback, 2015 stats: passing for 156 completions on 240 attempts with a 65 percent completion rate, for 2,360 yards and 20 touchdowns. He rushed for 785 yards on 119 carries for 16 touchdowns. Baca holds the Pirate record for most passing yards in a game at 429 yards against Gladewater in the second game of the 2015 season and was picked as the Built Ford Tough Player of the week. He was picked rst team All-District Quarterback, Honorable Mention Academic All-State, and Honorable Mention East Texas Sports Network (ESTN) Super Team. Baca signed a letter of intent to attend East Texas Baptist University in Marshall. Nate Buck, center, 2015 stats: Second Team All-District Center, 91 percent grade as a lineman; he had 46 cut blocks, and no sacks of quarterback allowed. He received Honorable Mention All-State, and Honorable Mention ETSN Super Team. He has been selected to play in Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Heart of Champions Bowl. Buck signed a letter of intent with Texas College, in Tyler. Alex Carlock, defensive tackle, 2015 stats: He made ve solo tackles and one assist. Carlock was on the Pirates special goal line defense squad. He sign a letter of intent with Texas College, in Tyler.
