Feb. 4 The Carpe Diem String Quartet Tickets are available for tonight’s 7:30 performance of The Carpe Diem String Quartet at the Northeast Texas Community College Whatley Performing Arts Center. This string quartet is a boundary-breaking ensemble that includes programming reflecting its passions for Gypsy, tango, folk, pop, rock and jazz-inspired music along with traditional string quartet repertoire. Feb. 5 “Dancing with the Staff” This Friday, Feb. 5, 6 pm, Pittsburg High School Dance Club will host its annual “Dancing with the Staff.” The event will be held at the Pittsburg High School Auditorium. Entry fee is $5 for ages 3-up. Teacher participants this year are: Mary Ruth Townsend with PHS junior Sandra Perez; Ashley Simpson with PHS junior Haili Price; Susan Gilbert and Chelsea Huizinga with PHS sophomore Callie Huggins; Johnna Owen with PHS freshman Morgan Honzell; Duane Johnson with PHS senior Madison Avinger-Brown; Estella Ibarra with PHS senior Myesha Hurndon; Wendy Busch with PHS senior; Adrian Castaneda; LaWanda Edwards with PHS junior Lane Burton.
