Chamber awards banquet is tonight

Tonight is the night for the annual Pittsburg-Camp County Chamber of Commerce Banquet, at 6 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 831 Loop 179. The highlight of the evening will be the Woman and Man of the Year awards, otherwise known as the Drucilla Pruitt and Dr. P.A. Reitz awards, the Aubrey E. Pilgrim Award for the agriculture person of the year, volunteer of the year and business of the year. Jackson Boyd, new chamber president, said he’s looking forward to his leadership. “I am honored to have been voted in as the next Chamber of Commerce president and look forward to the years ahead of growing this great organization. I invite the community out for a great night as we honor our local businesses and community leaders. e banquet helps us to raise money for the year ahead so we can continue to put on great events such as parades, community programs, and Pioneer Days,” Boyd said.
