Taylor

Robert Taylor Jr. was born on December 2, 1952 in Pittsburg, Texas and passed away January 6, 2016 in Houston after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Kathy; two beautiful daughters, Haley and Emily Taylor, of College Station and Austin, Texas; mother, well known watercolor artist, Jo Taylor; sisters, Beth Morgan and brother-in-law Ron Morgan, Mary Akin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. As a young adult, Robert was an accomplished musician in his first career and when his family obligations required it he became an excellent machinist. His third and final career was as a talented Mechanical Engineer after graduating Texas A&M University. He still holds a number of patents for oil field equipment. Robert was an ardent and skilled sailor for most of his life. He and Kathy lived for years aboard their sailing yachts. As an accomplished woodworker, he created a number of beautiful upgrades for both of their boats. Perhaps his most endearing and entertaining quality was as a storyteller. He could spin his yarns for hours and did enjoy entertaining and making people laugh. He will be greatly missed. The family requests donations to be made to the American Lung Association in lieu of flowers.
