Through Dec. 3 Photography Club Exhibit The Northeast Texas Photography Club will exhibit a collection of work in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College November 9 through December 3. The display will include photography in a variety of styles, all shot by local members. An artist reception will be held Thursday, Nov. 12 at 2:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center foyer.
Nov. 19 Kiwanis Club Pancake Supper The Kiwanis Club is having its annual pancake supper on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Pittsburg Intermediate School Cafetorium. There will be a cake auction and the children’s choir will perform.
Nov. 20 Grand Opening & Book Signing Sisters Reclaimed Grand opening will be Friday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Stephanie Chance, best seller author, will be there signing books.
Nov. 21 Thanksgiving Dinner Franklin Street Church of Christ will hold a Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 21 at 309 Franklin Street from 11-2. The public is invited to come.
Nov. 22 Community Thanksgiving Service The Pittsburg Ministerial Alliance will be hosting its annual Community Thanksgiving Service Sunday, Nov. 22 at the First United Methodist Church beginning at 6 p.m. This year the speaker will be Hill Johnson, pastor of FUMC. Many members of the Pittsburg Ministerial Alliance will be on the program Everyone is encouraged to bring a canned food item or peanut butter to benefit God’s Closet. “This service is always a highlight during the Thanksgiving season. Come and be a part of what God is doing in Pittsburg,” said Steve Sullivan of the Pittsburg Ministerial Alliance.
Nov. 22 Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway Emmanuel Baptist Church will have their annual Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway this coming Sunday, Nov. 22. The giveaway will be held at the church’s location at 831 Loop 179 and will begin at 2 p.m. with doors opening at 1:30 p.m. Baskets will include a traditional Thanksgiving meal of a chicken and side dishes to be cooked by the recipient. Those receiving a basket should be residents of Camp County with meals being distributed according to the number of family members. Nov. 28 “It Shall Come To Pass” “It Shall Come To Pass” a musical presented by the Ernie Lee “SHACK” Walker Foundation will be held at the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 5 p.m.The Rev. Patrick Lloyd invites the public to attend.
Dec. 6 Friends and Family Day The Living Green Baptist Church will be having their “Friends and Family Day” on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. D. A. Dec. 6 “Light Out of the Darkness” The First Baptist Church of Pittsburg will present “Light Out of the Darkness,” a multimedia presentation that is sure to be a favorite even this Christmas. The event will be held Sunday, Dec. 6, 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.
