PISD School Supply List
Pittsburg Independent School District has updated its school supply lists for the 2015-16 school year. This is the newest list available.
Pre-K
One Glue, one Crayola brand water color set, one 16-count regular Crayola crayons, one box of eight-count jumbo Crayola crayons (a second box will be needed during the year), one regular sized backpack, one box of Kleenex, one box gallon Ziploc bags for girls and one box quart size Ziploc bags for boys, no pencil boxes.
Kindergarten
One package No. 2 pencils, three Crayola eight-count crayons (not jumbo), one 24-count box Crayola crayons, one Prang or Crayola watercolor set, four four-ounce bottle of Elmer’s glue, one package Crayola brand washable markers, one package of three Sanford Expo fine point dry erase markers (not jumbo), one plastic school box, one backpack, two boxes Kleenex. For the 8-count crayons and the four-ounce bottle of glue, the children will use these throughout the year. If parents prefer, they may purchase one at the beginning of school and provide the rest throughout the year.
First Grade
Twelve No. 2 yellow wooden pencils (no glitter or plastic covered pencils), one plastic school box (not oversized), one backpack tote bag or satchel, two four-ounce bottle of Elmer’s Glue, two Elmer’s glue sticks, two 24-count Crayola crayons, one eight-count Crayola crayons to be kept at home for homework, one box Ziploc baggies – gallon size for boys and quart size for girls, two boxes Kleenex and $7 for a class T-shirt to be ordered after the school year starts. For the four-ounce glue, glue sticks and 24-count crayons, the children will use these throughout the year. If parents prefer, they may purchase one at the beginning of school and provide the rest throughout the year.
Second Grade
One pair of Fiskars pointed metal scissors, two boxes of 24-count crayons – one for each semester, two packages of Crayola washable markers, three packages of glue sticks – no liquid glue, four packages of 10-count No. 2 yellow wooden pencils – Ticondergoa preferred, one wide-ruled 70-page spiral notebook, three boxes of Kleenex, one supply box, one backpack or tote bag – not rolling, one package of broad tip highlighters, two pink erasers and one package of eraser caps, one large bottle of hand sanitizer, one package of 12 colored pencils, two packages of dry erase markers – one for each semester, one box of Ziploc bags, quart size for girls and snack size for boys.
Third Grade
One pair of Fiskars scissors, two boxes of 24-count crayons, four Elmer’s glue sticks – no liquid glue, four packages of No. 2 pencils (no mechanical), three boxes of Kleenex, one package of assorted dry erase markers, one box Walmart baggies – gallon size for girls and quart size for boys, one package of wide-ruled notebook paper, two large packages of yellow highlighters, $3 for classroom binders, one bottle of hand sanitizer, one zipper pouch to hold pencils in binders and $3 for music recorders.
Fourth Grade
One pair of small, sharp-pointed metal scissors, two 24-count packages of yellow No. 2 pencils or two packages of mechanical pencils, one box of 24-count crayons, one eight ounce bottle of Elmer’s glue or two glue sticks, one package of wide-ruled notebook paper, one composition book, one handheld pencil sharpener that holds shavings, three boxes of Kleenex, one pencil box or bag, one package of cap erasers, two packages of three highlighters – different colors and no gels, two folders with brads, one package of dry erase markers, one box of Ziploc bags, quart size for girls and gallon size for boys, three boxes of colored pencils, one protractor – not a compass, one bottle of hand sanitizer, one roll of paper towels.
Fifth Grade
One zip-close binder, one pack of 12-count colored pencils, one package of wide ruled notebook paper, one package of 24-count No. 2 pencils, one box of 24-count crayons, one pair of 7-to-9-inch household scissors, two eight ounce bottles of glue, two subject spiral notebook – wide ruled for science, six to 10 large markers, three boxes of Kleenex, four highlighters, one pack of Expo markers, a lock (optional – no keys or cards). Please note: backpacks must fit in lockers and must not be on wheels. Put name on all items. Replenish supplies as needed during the year.
Sixth Grade
Reading: two glue sticks, one subject spiral notebook in blue, one blue folder. Math: two glue sticks, three subject spiral notebook in red, one red folder. Science: one subject spiral notebook in green, one green folder. Social Studies: map pencils, one yellow folder, hand-held pencil sharpener. General: two packages of wide ruled notebook paper, two packages of No. 2 pencils, 24-count crayons, one pair of 7-to-9-inch household scissors, two boxes of Kleenex, pencil bag, one package of dry erase markers, backpack is required.
Seventh Grade
Math: one four-pack of Expo dry erase markers, one bottle of Elmer’s glue, one package of multi-color highlighters, one folder with pockets and brads, one plastic pencil box, one composition notebook, two packages wide ruled paper, two packages No. 2 pencils, two packages cap erasers. Advanced Math: all of the above supplies plus one package of red pens and one folder with pockets and brads. All math supplies will be kept in the classroom. Reading: one folder with pockets and no brads, one highlighter. Advanced Reading: two folders with pockets and brads in any color except purple, one package of five dividers, one three-ring binder that is no larger than two inches. Writing: one package of blue pens, one spiral notebook, one plastic folder with pockets and brads, two highlighters, boys will need one package of red pens and girls will need one box of map colors. Science: one folder with pockets, one composition notebook, two glue sticks, one package of pencils. Social Studies: one folder with pockets and brads, one package of notebook paper, one package of pens/pencils, two glue sticks, one box of map colors. Advanced Social Studies: all of the above social studies supplies plus one composition notebook. All 7th grade students will need one box of Kleenex for their 8th period teacher.
Eighth Grade
Math: one package of No. 2 pencils, one package of wide ruled notebook paper, one three-ring binder, one spiral notebook, one red pen or pencil. Reading: one red folder with brads, one package of black or blue pens, one package wide ruled notebook paper, three different colored highlighters. Writing: one folder with brads, one package red pens, one two-subject spiral notebook, one package blue or black pens, two highlighters-not yellow, one package of wide ruled notebook paper. Advanced Writing: all of the above writing supplies plus one 1 1/2-inch three-ring binder and one package of dividers. Science: two glue sticks, one folder with pockets, one container of disinfectant wipes, one composition book, one box of map colors. Social Studies: one folder with brads and pockets, one package of pens/pencils, one box of map colors. All 8th grade students will need one box of Kleenex for their 8th period teacher.
