Pentecostals of Pittsburg At some point during the weeks leading to Mother’s Day each year, I usually think about this verse found in the New Testament. When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also. (2 Timothy 1:5 KJV) This verse comes from Paul’s second letter to Timothy, and he is encouraging Timothy not to give up and not to fear, even though Paul himself is in prison. It is just a couple of verses further down that Paul pens those famous words... “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
