Find real change in the Lord

"Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!" I don't have to tell you the origin of those words. You automatically know they were spoken by Dr. King on that fateful day from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Nothing legal changed that day. No immediate societal changes were seen. Obviously, that day offered a watershed moment for the American population. What changed? The minds and the hearts of the listeners. The mass of the people on that day considered themselves free and began to live like it. Their choices brought innumerable difficulties and much pain. Life was lost. Families were separated. Fires were lit. But nothing and no one could dissuade this strong bunch of Americans. Why? Because they believed. Anyone can change the course of a ship for a little while. All that takes is a little noise and some quick moves; most ships right themselves and continue on in their same direction. Again, why? Because most ship turners don't have one key element: belief. They may have excitement, passion, leadership, or followers. They may be gifted with a voice that can melt hearts, a quick witted mind, or hands that can fashion the most stylish rudders. But the object of their turning will eventually come back to its original path. Their lack of belief gives way.
