Lady Pirates make playoffs with win against L.E.; lose a close one to P.G.

The Lady Pirates made the playoffs last week with their win against Liberty Eylau, 51-30. Pittsburg exploded for 20 second quarter points, thanks in part to two 11 point performers in Maxie Ivory and Ayanna Palmer. Ivory went five of 13 from the floor for a 38.5 percent shooting percentage, with three steals and one block on the night. Palmer went four of seven from the field for a 57.1 percent shooting percentage and collected seven rebounds on the night; five defensive and two offensive and she recorded two steals in the game. Others scoring for the Lady Pirates were Genesis Lopez (five points) with three steals; Kaycee Parker (three points) with three assists; Nakiya Brown (two points) with two rebounds; D’Maya Hashaway (seven points) with four steals and a three pointer; Taylor Leonard (two points) with one rebound; Whitney Hamilton (two points) with one assist and one rebound; and Shaundrea Rhymes (eight points) with two steals and a blocked shot.
