Pirates lose four, win one; move to 1-4 in district play

The Pirate boy’s basketball team moved to 1-4 in district play with losses against Pleasant Grove, Liberty Eylau, Paris and North Lamar, but secured a win against Atlanta.
The Pirates lost to Pleasant Grove, 60-50 in a game that was missing starting center, E.J. Hill to illness. Dejour Dowell led the Pirate scoring effort with 12 points and he had a three pointer on the night. Keondre Traylor had 11 points for the Pirates, Sir Charles Perkins produced five points with three of them coming from beyond the arc, Jakevion Traylor had nine points, D.J. Porter knocked down eight points, Red Shields had two points, and Robert Hollins knocked down a three point shot for Pittsburg.
