Dear Editor:

 

The recent drop in the price of crude oil should be looked upon by the leadership of our nation as a time to move further towards U.S. energy independence. The increased energy production in the U.S. of natural gas and oil through fracking is incredibly positive not only in terms of American jobs created and retaining money inside the U.S. but it is also a gigantic step in terms of protecting our national security. Steps must be taken to keep fracking alive and prospering in our nation as well as the move to open huge fields of oil and natural gas accessible by fracking globally.

I agree and support supply and demand setting the market price for the price of crude, but I also support our movement to become energy independent.
