Tommy Nello Weeks Sr., 75, of Pittsburg, died on Jan. 6, at his residence in Pittsburg. Mr.Weeks was born on Aug. 22, 1939 in Boyle, Miss. His funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg with Sister Lollie Madison and Bro. Steve Stasney officiating. Interment was held at Ebenezer Cemetery in Pittsburg.
Mr. Weeks served in the Army and worked in construction. He was the pastor at The Church of God of Prophecy in Tyler and Marshall; he also served as deacon, district overseer and taught Sunday school.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Weeks of Pittsburg; two sons, Tye Weeks of Kermit and Wayne Swearengin of Little Elm; one daughter and one son-in-law, Kristy and Mark Jurik of Rogers, Ark.; three sisters, Nell Cooper of Gladewater, Wilma Moody of Pontotoc, Miss., and Shirley Cloud of Orange; three grandchildren, Todd Weeks, Ethan Jurik and Ryan Jurik, and two great-grandchildren, Braden Weeks and Bailey Weeks. Mr. Weeks was preceded in death by his parents, Buster Vernon Weeks and Eva Mae Walpole Weeks; three brothers, R.V. Weeks, Larry Weeks, Bill Weeks; six sisters, Frances West, Bertie Shafer, Virginia Knight, Ruby Lee Weeks, Maggie Williams and Alice Kirkland and by his son, Dewayne Weeks. Pallbearers were Kevin Weeks, J.R. Shafer, Charles “Bubba” Cooper, Randy Moody, Jimmy Tatlor, and John Cooper. Honorary pallbearers were, John West and Roger Shaker.
