Lady Pirates win district opener 48-44

The Lady Pirates started off district play the right way by securing a 48-44 win over the Lady Rabbits of Atlanta. 
Shaundrea Rhymes led scorers with 18 points, going a strong eight of 11 from the floor, giving her a 72.7 percent shooting mark; she also had two blocks and a steal on the night. She also made the most of rebound opportunities, hauling in 10 rebounds; five offensive and five defensive. Others scoring for the Lady Pirates were: Kaycee Parker with six points, Taylor Leonard with seven points, Ayanna Palmer with five points, D’Maya Hashaway with nine points, and Nakiya Brown had three points. 
Collectively, the Lady Pirates hauled in 35 rebounds; 12 offensive and 23 defensive. They also had six steals on the night with Hashaway leading that category.
