Pirates drop decision to Rains 45-40; win against Mineola

The Pirate basketball squad took to the hardwood last week and lost a close decision to Emory- Rains, 45-40 and picked up a 10 point win against Mineola 51-41. Sir Charles Perkins and Keondre Traylor led scoring efforts for the Pirates against Rains, scoring 16 points and 14 points respectively. Perkins hit five of 11 shots from the floor, all five of them came from beyond the arc; he also had three steals on the night. Traylor went four of nine from the floor and six of 10 from the charity stripe. Traylor hauled in 11 rebounds; nine defensively and two offensively, and he also had three steals. Others who scored for Pittsburg were D.J. Hughes and Justin Zepeda, who had two points apiece, and E.J. Hill turned in a six point performance.
