Pirates tame Spring Hill Panthers 53-48

The Pittsburg Pirates held their home opener last Tuesday night against the Spring Hill Panthers, a team that is coached by former Pirate basketball coach, Tim Ender. The Pirates took the victory in a close game, 53-48.Keondre Traylor led the scoring efforts, scoring 20 points—helping Pittsburg pick up another win on the season—Traylor also packed his stats with seven rebounds on the night. Sophomore, E.J. Hill, also turned in a standout performance, going seven of 13 from the floor and garnering 15points. D.J. Porter had eight points, Jakevion Traylor tickled the twine for two points, and Sir Charles Perkins and Justin Zepeda turned in four points apiece.
Hill led the Pirates in the rebounding category with nine; six defensive and three offensive, Keondre Taylor had seven rebounds; five defensive and two offensive, Porter and Robert Hollins came down with one board apiece and Zepeda and Teryian Cuba had three rebounds apiece for the Pirates. Collectively, the Pirates had 13 steals, with Porter, Zepeda, and Hill picking the Panthers pocket three times apiece on the night.
