Boys get second in Prairieland tournament

The Pirate Boys Basketball team received second place in the Prairieland tournament last weekend Pittsburg played a barnburner against Rivercrest, beating them 53-49 in regulation. Sir Charles Perkins led the scoring efforts for the Pirates, going 5 of 14 from the floor; knocking down four shots from two point range, a three point bucket, and knocking down four from the charity stripe. E.J. Hill finished the night with 14 points, going 5 of 8 from the floor; 10 of those points came from two point range and the rest came from the freethrow line. Also joining in on the scoring efforts were: Robert Hollins, 8 points; Keondre Traylor, 10 points; Justin Zepeda, 4 points; and Teryian Cuba, who had 2 points. The Pirates reached the century mark from two point range as a team, going 50 percent, with an overall shooting percentage of 44.2 percent.
