NTCC Men's Soccer headed to National Tourney

The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Men’s Eagles Soccer team is bound for the NJCAA National Tournament this weekend after defeating Pearl River Community College on Friday. The Eagles will travel to Prescott, Arizona Nov. 18-23 to compete for the national championship title.
Rimario Gordon scored the first and only goal of the game, assisted by Yannick Koffi, 20 minutes in on Friday. Sal Martinez defended the Eagles' goal from all attempts by Pearl River and the eagles picked up the 1-0 win. The victory falls on the heels of a playoff bid last season that was stopped short during the Region 14 Tournament. This will be the team's first appearance at the  National Tournament since the team began playing in 2010.
The last time NTCC competed at the National level was when the 1996 Baseball team brought the National Junior College Athletic Association World Series title to NTCC.
