Services for Herbert “Herb” Ray Seale were conducted on Oct. 14 at Erman Smith Funeral have gone to the doctor that day, my situation couldbe much worse. “ Often, people in situations like Mrs. Mayben’s find something to lean on and hers was family. “My family has just been amazing in all of this,Paul, my kids, grandkids, just everybody. There were some times where I felt pretty bad, and thank goodness, Casey is a nurse, that was just such a blessing. Everyone has been so, so supportive in my journey.” Mrs. Mayben said that although she made it through her battle, it’s always in the back of her mind. 
“I survived and I got through it, I’m still a little weepy, it’s been a year. I’m thankful, I’m okay and I feel so blessed that I didn’t have to go through radiation or chemo. I will always be forever changed by this battle; it has changed me and opened my eyes to a lot of things.” Mrs. Mayben was diagnosed with Stage 2 Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (dcis) and reiterated early detection. “Early detection, early detection, early detection, I can’t stress it enough. Mr. Seale was born March 5, 1931 anddied Oct. 12 in Hughes Springs. Mr. Seale was a Veteran of the Korean War and was a member of First Baptist Church in Pittsburg. He was preceded in death by his wife Katherine; parents, Eunice and Viccie Seale; and sisters, Bernice Roach and Dorothy Massoletti. Mr. Seale is survived by daughters; Lori and her husband Troy of Avinger and daughter, Julie Stone of Houston; brother, Lacy and his wife Peggie of Pittsburg; sister, Bobbie Sue Nugent of Gilmer; one grandchild and one great grandchild.
Interment was held at Lafayette Cemetery under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Kenny Nugent, Gary Nugent, Ray Nugent, Brandon Nugent, Randy Seale, and Daniel Brock. Honorary pallbearer was Tim Nicholson. Online condolences may be left at www.ermansmithfuneralhome. net.
