Services for James “Jimmy” O. Drennan, 92, were held at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel Thursday, Oct. 2.He was born Feb. 9, 1922 in Powell, Okla. And he died Sept. 30 at East Texas Medical Center Tyler. He graduated high school in Madill, Okla. Where he was president of the student body and a honor society member. He was a deacon and elder of the Presbyterian Church in Pittsburg and Clerk of the Session for 25 years.
He worked as a carpenter and a builder and he retired from Lone Star Steel after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Frank Sexton Masonic Lodge 206 for 50 years, American Legion Post 422, and served in the Army during World War II. He received a Purple Heart and served in the Korean War as well. He is survived by his spouse, Muriel Anderson Drennan of Pittsburg and one son, Jim Drennan of Richardson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Edward Drennan and Maggie Mae Liner Drennan; four brothers and two sisters. Memorials may be made to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn Street, Dallas, Texas 75219. Online condolences may be left at www.ermansmithfuneralhome. net.
