Why teachers should make big bucks

I’m deviating this week from my usual sports themed column to talk about a special group of people who deserve some attention. If it were up to me, I’d pay all teachers in the State of Texas a minimum of $50,000 a year, no question. They have one of the hardest jobs around; I’m talking stratosphere level in terms of measurability. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) released accountability ratings this past week and Pittsburg ISD came out on top. Our district surpassed every standard set by the state and set an example for our educational region.
